I'm helping out with the sports section of my local high school website. We are blessed with a lot of students who are interested in covering the school's sports for the site, and we've discussed adding real time scoring for live events.

My question is, what is the easiest and least expensive software to get into this? The only possibility I've seen is Meridix, which seems like a great product, but is too much for what is essentially an experiment.

We'd be willing to invest in something like that in a year or so if interest keeps up.

So, any ideas?
