PHP will continue to be a evolving language for quite some time. Personally I'd highly reccomend investing your time into a career where you can utilize it. It will pay off in the end.

Depends on what you mean. It's not going to fall off the face of the earth, but I wouldn't suggest that it's necessarily going to be as profitable to learn/master as some other languages. For better or worse, ASP has been adopted by many corporations and powers a great many of the larger websites you sometimes see. Ditto for JSP (Java Server Pages). There's still plenty of need for PHP programmers, of course.

Generally, if someone were just looking to make some money, I suppose I'd steer them towards ASP/JSP. If they were primarily looking for a language with which to build sites for themselves or on their own, I'd suggest PHP. It has a fine future either way, though.

PHP will definitely continue to grow. It's starting to become just as important as knowing plain HTML nowadays. It's also good to get a good grasp of MySQL as it works hand in hand with PHP.
